I've herd of some people trying to spray "bitter apple" in the tail, or even hot pepper sauce (Texas Pete, Tobasco.. anything hot). Some goats will dislike the taste and ignore it, others like the flavor... and the tail is no more. The tails can get a little gross though with the hot sauce :-)

I had a young kid almost eat 3 inches off my own hair at a fair while I was sitting in a pen, talking to some people. I didnt notice the kid chewing on it.. then I felt a wet glob of ponytail hit my back.. then went to pull the "knot" out... it was a knot of chewed up and severed hair. Guess I needed a haircut! Goats are curious.. anything is fair game.. hair, pipewrap, flytapes within reach.....

-Good Luck
