With the culture your vet should have received the labs "guesses" at what drugs to use. Penicilin would have to be stated as drug of choice for it to work. Same with the drug in Today infusions. Like when we were diagnosed with Staph, Naxcel (cepharin sodium) as the injection and then Pirsue (maybe Persue) was the infusion we used. Actually I think infusions are best used at drying, and systemic antibiotics, making sure to use some thing that goes into the mammary is the way to go.
I am not worried about antibiotic or worming residue in my milk that I feed to my goatlings, I would however not feed milk that I even suspected was mastitic, as with Staph it can infect any doe kids who drink it, premise being that the doe will harbor staph internally to have it trigger mastitis in her udder, or on her skin as she is older and freshens.
