If you are positive he is up to date on his shots I don't know why you would want to inject him. I know there are people who will give antibiotics before they go to a show or upon returning but if there is no infection to treat you are wasting the antibiotic. I have asked several vets about this and all have said that antibiotics are a treatment not a preventive. I prefer to use a probiotic or ID 1 to help boost the system to try to prevent or minimize stress.
