I agree that overuse of antibiotics will only cause serious problems down the road. I started a log last year. For every visit I made to my vet, I logged the reason, what he prescribed, and the outcome. I now refer back to this log when something arises. I am not a vet and don't have their schooling, but sometimes when you live in the country like we do you have to try to help yourself and save your animals. So after a year I went to him and asked for the most prescribed drugs. He ordered me a bottle of each of the following: Vitamin B 12, Vitamin B Complex, Nuflor (antibiotic), Banamine (only use as last resort, has some effects after long term use but is a miracle saver to us), Lactates ringer (spelled wrong) for dehydrating kids and something else I can't think of. Anyway we used to use LA200 but did switch to Biomycin 200, non sting. We again only use these drugs when we HAVE to. I hope this has helped a little. Again these have worked for us so far and maybe someone will have a better idea that will work for you.
