I just want to first of all THANK everyone for the information concerning possible treatments for this knot.
I am sooooo glad to report that this 20 month old wether has now gone for almost 8 days without the knot reappearing.
First of all I changed the type of minerals I was feeding.<<< Thanks Vicki for that information. I also put tinctured 7% iodine along his back bone to his tail bone.<<<< Thanks for that information Bernice.
I also gave him 4 days of treatments with Nutri-Drench with Glucose, High Vitamins, Trace Minerals, and Amino Acids. I gave this to him morning and afternoon for 4 days. I have added to all my goats feed something called Vita-Plus. I purchased this from my local TSC Store. It is made for horses and has lots of different types of minerals and vitamins in it. I had used the Vita-Plus several years ago and it made my goats look like show goats. Slick and Shinny.. It really cost to much to use every day. I preferred using it in the summer time to using it in the winter. With winter here they need all the fuzzy hair they can get. I will use it very little now. I also gave all 19 of my goats a good dose of Vitamin ADE & B12 Gel. I put it on a piece of bread<<<<<<. Thanks Linda for that information They all loved the BREAD>. They never even knew they were given midicine..They thought it was a treat.
On a sadder note... November 20th I lost a doe that had been sick for sometime. I treated her with LA200 for several days and would skip a day and then treat her again. But I think her immune system was just so low and very cold weather set in and she just gave up. I had put a goat coat on her that i had purchased from Caprine Supply several years ago, but i lost her. I submitted her picture to Gary at goatWorld and he posted her picture in the Memoriam Section. The picture was taken last year when she delivered her triplets.Ms Nanny <<<< Thanks Gary.
