: : WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET RID OF CISTS I HAVE A DOELING THAT HAS ONE JUST ABOVE HER BACK LEG. IT DOESNT BOTHER HER, BUT I WANT TO DO SOMETHING WITH IT SHES HAD IT 2 DAYS.
Hello, I am new to this forum and goats (1.5 yrs) but my experience with horses, cattle, dogs, etc. is that for a "simple" cyst, don't give antibiotics or mess with it until after it bursts and drains, then keep the hole open and flush daily with peroxide or iodine. If you give antibiotics too soon the thing never "matures" and can stick around and get worse. Of course if she is ill and or running a fever then you should get professional help - I am not a vet. Good luck!
