Shriley-My collies have a problem with what we call 'rain rot'. Sounds similar. on the dogs it reminds me of cradle cap that human babies get.It is actually a staph infection. Staph is present on the skin all the time,stress will cause it to go out of control,or cause the animals natural defenses to it to go haywire. I use vitamin C to boost the immune system but I have not tried anything topical (I may try Michael's mineral oil next time,which by the way is waht you use on cradle cap,hmmmm....)
