Have you ever seen sore mouth? Those sores can be pretty nasty. Was he still nursing? If so, check the dam's udder for sores and check his brother's mouth too. Also any other places where there is little or no hair. Sore mouth in itself isn't fatal but it can cause the animals to stop eating and that of course isn't very healthy for them. If the does get sores on their udders they won't let the kids nurse. You might want to check your other animals and see if they have any sores....and I might be way off base! I hope I am! If you do find sores they can be kept soft with an ointment like Neosporin so it will be easier for the kids to eat. There's a vaccine too but it's a live one and you don't want to give it unless you have to. It takes a couple of weeks but it'll clear up. In the meantime your goatie friends will look like something from the X-Files. Love them anyway but don't kiss them and wear rubber gloves when touching them!
