Pushing up the price and overpriced goats

Posted by Zealot on April 06, 2001 at 07:36:38:

I think there are a group of people in the meat goat industry pushing up the prices of goats to meet their own need - greed. Goats that would in reality only bring maybe $100 or so are being sold for way more than they are worth. This is the big problem with the goat industry because these people are taking advantage of people who are new to goats and trying to sell them higher priced animals that just aint worth it. I'm not saying don't get into meat goats. Just don't pay these big farms and big breeders ridiculous prices because their goats are not worth anymore than what you would pay at an auction. Chances are their stock has an auction background anyways and those registration papers they wave in your face are phony. They are all a big group of friends just like the oil companies. And funny to is that alot of these are breeders in Texas which is an oil state.
