New goat yard

Hi all. Due to my addiction to goats, and my desire to keep having more, once this snow melts in upstate NY, I'll be a fence building fool. The area I want to use is very wooded. I was thinking that I would have to clear it out before I bring the goats in. But, I've been catching hints from this one and that one on the message board that some of you yard your goats in the woods. So, now I'm wondering, just how much clearing I have to do. Any comments or advise would be greatly appreciated.
