One of the 4h'ers over here has llamas and he has had really good luck with them. His male llama killed a stray dog in his pasture about a month ago. The biggest benefit would be that you don't have to feed llamas part of the year since they're grazer/browsers too.The downside is that a good guard dog can help you do some herding as well. I hate to chase goats so I let my dogs take care of it! LOL(my dogs are not guard dogs but straight herders)
