This discussion just came up last week and we looked it up in the GOAT MEDICINE book (it's on page 438) In the European breeds there is an association between polled and the intersex condition. (Somewhere else I believe I read that it occurs in about 20% of the offspring) GOAT MEDICINE also states that the polled intersex condition is not reported in the Nubian and Angora breeds. There is also a condition known as a freemartin. A freemartin is a female rendered sterile by being a co-twin to a male fetus, and has nothing to do with the polled condition. This is very rare in goats.
