Our doe freshened two and a half weeks ago, and has been milking fine. Today, I noticed minor lumps in the strip cup from one teat. Her udder is not red, inflamed or hot. Without the strip cup screen, I would not have noticed a thing. Should I go ahead and check for mastitis or give it a few days to see if it's just congestion. Also, I've heard two thoughts on treatment: penicillin or a solution that is injected up into the udder through the teat. Any more clarification would be apprectiated. Thanks. Mary G.
