Hi I am starting a meat goat operation at my small farm in Alabama and am looking for advice on which breed to use, I have been researching this dilema to exhaustion and still get so many differing answers, it is a bit confusing. If there are any successful farms out there that can help it would be much appreciated. I have not yet purchased my breeding stock, first I am putting up new fence which will be complete this week.As of now I am interested in the spanish- Boer cross, the myotonic are interesting but way to expensive, plus I want to have a milk goat or two for those extra kids that need help, I don't know, I am a bit overwelmed by it all, I do know that I want to start out on the best foot that I can afford, I plan on keeping it small until I get the feel for things and then move forward. All help will be greatly appreciated.
