You need to check to make sure the little girl dosn't have inverted eyelids. Sometimes the eyelashes will scrape the cornea, and irritate the eye - causing it to weep, and can lead to other eye problems.
A vet can usually take care of it by the use of clips, or little notches in the eyelid to help hold it the proper way to allow healing. Then you can go ahead an use an eye antibiotic.
Just make sure you always rule out all possible problems before making treatments. :-)
