As a former Iowa farmer, I can say that trauma to an animal prior to kill messes up the taste of the meat and so skinning alive is really quite stupid as well as inhumane. Kinky butchers have various strange ideas...trauma prior to kill (skinning) could be identified as such. The job of butcher is not for the weird, or is it?
