Goats are very simply either meat or milk and are livestock. I have quite literally sold for butcher hundreds of bucks, with most of these butchered at our place. I actually prefer for them to kill them here, gut, skin and halve, then iced in icechests to be taken home to cut up. In all this time I have never had a Muslim, Hispanic, Black ever want to do anything close to this (skinning while alive) The only distasteful thing that is done is a man who does 100% of my butchering insists on hanging them by the hind legs first then slitting their throats. He saves the blood. Because he is a family friend, butchers for me for just meat back, and is very kind to my animals (and cleans my barns) I do allow this. But I simply don't watch this part of the procedure, because it does bother me. Vicki
